Robin Quivers Diet Review

Overview

Robin Quivers is an on air personality on The Howard Stern Show. She famously lost 70 lbs on the Master Cleanse Diet Diet. The diet is a liquid fast in which you are to drink nothing but a mixture of water, lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper, for a period of several days. Quivers apparently followed the plan for multiple 21 day periods to lose the weight. She says she maintains the weight loss now through a vegan diet.

Pros:

  • Temporary Weight Loss: Most people who lose weight through a fast gain it right back…though Quivers seems to have been able to maintain her weight loss.

Cons:

  • Yo-Yo Effect: Starving yourself tends to slow down your body’s metabolism, making it easier for you to put on weight after, causing a yo-yo effect in dieting.

Bottom Line

The Master Cleanse is not a long-term weight loss solution for most people. As soon as the fast is over, the weight usually comes back on. The keys to a long-term weight loss plan are a balanced diet with a focus on portion control, and regular exercise.
